Sargonarhes January 9, 2016 - 10:32am | Just asking, is this work belong to any of you? https://www.shapeways.com/product/4XG64WKWJ/upf-assault-scout-1-270?li=search-results-18&optionId=57253675 I have to ask because they have a Sathar fighter as well. Found while browsing Shapeways. And then I find these as well. https://www.shapeways.com/product/BL5JP98NM/invader-frigate?li=more-from-shop&optionId=58020747 In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |
TerlObar January 9, 2016 - 12:12pm | Not mine. They're very good though. And the guy that did the sathar frigate has a whole series of the sathar vehicles and the UPF ones. They have a lot more detail than the ones I made. I wonder if they actually can print that detail. It's also a huge copyright violation since he is selling items for which the copyright belong to WotC. He may have made the models but the originals that they are based on are copyrighted. He did make a few that didn't exist before but the rights to the ones that are replicas aren't his. These all just recently went up (Oct-Nov of last year). Makes mine look lousy by comparison. iggy January 9, 2016 - 1:36pm | I've been working on a Sathar scout ship in sketchup. Looking at his the wings are too broad. -iggy |
Sargonarhes January 9, 2016 - 2:48pm | Actually looking at the UFP ships, the miniatures of frigates that are licensed have only one engine on the official miniatures. I managed to acquire some on ebay with some scouts. His frigates have 3 engines on them. But copyright lawyers can be real shysters about details like that. TerlObar January 9, 2016 - 3:21pm | He has the single engine one too. Hopefully he got permission. It looks like they are available at cost based on the prices so hopefully they won't get pulled down. I'm going to contact him and see if I can get a copy of the model files themselves. And I'd like to know what program he used to make them. Ad Astra Per Ardua!
