TerlObar January 9, 2016 - 9:09am | In the left navigation sidebar there is a "Messages" entry. You can click on that or hover over it and it opens up a box with "Check Messages" and "Compose Message" links. The Check Messages takes you to your inbox as does the Messages link. ChrisDonovan January 9, 2016 - 7:29pm | I do not appear to have that entry for some reason. |
TerlObar January 9, 2016 - 7:51pm | That is very very strange. Do you have the other links (Guestbook, Profile, Quicklinks, Buddylist and Log Out)? I'd be interested in seeing a screen capture of what the page looks like in your browser. In the mean time, try this URL: http://www.starfrontiers.us/privatemsg Ad Astra Per Ardua! ChrisDonovan January 10, 2016 - 6:43pm | Thank you. The link worked. Here's what I get from my browser. I don't have quicklinks or Buddylist. I do have Compose, but that only lets me send PMs. (screencap removed after problem solved) |
ChrisDonovan January 10, 2016 - 4:13am | Quick additional note: according to that link you sent, I am logged in, but it doesn't even have a copy of the PM in the "Sent" box. Correction to the post above: I found "Buddy List" and "Quicklinks", but they're categories, not clickable links. Still can't find the inbox though. |
TerlObar January 10, 2016 - 6:55am | Interesting. I looked at your profile and you have the same settings as me but that is a very different left sidebar. I'm going to have to poke around and see what is going on. One other thought. What browser are you using? Ad Astra Per Ardua! ChrisDonovan January 10, 2016 - 8:19am | Firefox with Ubuntu as my OS. |
TerlObar January 10, 2016 - 3:56pm | That's even weirder because I'm on Firefox on RedHat. The experience should be the same. Ad Astra Per Ardua! TerlObar January 10, 2016 - 4:13pm | Okay, I think I figured it out. Go to your profile and click the edit tab. On the right is a series of check boxes in the Customization Options box. Make sure that the Popup Menu item is checked. I had looked at your account and it showed it checked but I wonder if that was a problem with the display and it was just showing what was checked in mine (Popup Menu, Chat Invite, and Who's Online). I logged in to my other account and saw the same display as you and I didn't have that item selected. When I selected it, the messages option appeared under the navigation section. ChrisDonovan January 10, 2016 - 6:41pm | Huzzah! It works! It was not checked on my display... TYVM! :D |
