In the Confederate States of America the currency was backed by cotton. The Confederacy gambled that they'd be victorious and could make good on printed money. Inflation went wild when Northerners started printing Confederate currency and circulating it in the South. So if you collected Confederate currency is it real or is it counterfeit?
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Which still makes it more valuable than modern currency that gets printed on demand.
