July 26, 2015 - 7:21am | The mutiny on the Discovery and Henry Hudson make a great set up for an adventure. Keep the name Discovery but make it an exploration Star ship. Change Henry Hudson to a yazirian named Errie Uddenclan. Have him and two other yazirian marrooned on an uncharted planet. And crew makes it back to Frontier though many have died. PCs enter the story when they are tasked with locating the marrooned explorers. You need a ship with a lander or ability to land. A system/ planetary brief with well d veloped ecosystem and host of plants and animals . I hate to suggest this but a sapient Native species might make this more interesting (but its sort of cliche to have yet another primitive race.) Perhaps a lost outpost of known sapient species: pre-exodus yazirian, pre-day of doom eorna explorers, survivors of misjumped Frontier or Rim ship, pirates, sathar, mechanisms etc. And you'll need a deck plan. Once you put the above in place it should be fairly straight forward to write this. You need about 6 environmental/ random encounters that are about exploring the planet and dealing with environmental hazards. Then you need a story/motives/script for the marrooned explorers and for the lost outpost. For example- misjumped survivors will largely want rescue and would not normally want to commandeer the Discovery where as pirates would. Though if the misjumped survivors had a secret they needed to keep they might just desire to commandeer the Discovery. July 26, 2015 - 7:24am | Addendum to the Discovery Mutiny, Fo1 and terraforming angle possible as Errie Unndenclan might be an adherent of Fo1 and possibly bent on what others could consider environmental distruction.
