jedion357 June 28, 2015 - 2:02pm | Robot beetle is clearly of vrusk manufacture me thinks I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Tchklinxa June 28, 2015 - 2:18pm | Yes! LOL. This guys art is nice, I need to work on doing more comic book style art, and my art is rusty... I am thinking in the future there would be all sorts of robo's not just the big stuff... eventially I will be converting ideas on robots, right now trying to find links to cool ideas. jedion357 June 28, 2015 - 2:51pm | I did an article on R2D2 sized robots in the first year of the FE but I'm thinking we could use mini drone sized robots. Stuff you controlled from a laptop and joystick via wireless link. Camers, toxirad gauge, envio-scanner, remote explosives disarming would all be things you could do with them. Smaller cheaper, disposable and ideal for a freebie to a starting roboticist I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Tchklinxa June 28, 2015 - 6:10pm | Every one needs an R2 unit! I also want to include fun stuff and ideas about robots from comics & sci fi rags & movies of old as there is some great ideas and "classic" bots that deserve a chance at use in RPG. Besides it is fun to try and figure out what the bot does in game terms than make it so. Lexx had a little bug bot right in the pilot episode that helps the guy about to be eaten alive escape. It has one mission and one mission only and it keeps plugging away at that mission. Such a bot could be small in my opinion just like on the show... it is designed to sabotage to effect the dudes escape and be destroyed in the process... it was still probably expensive because of it's micro scanners & interfacing, but program wise not much probably going on, 1 time use device. Bug Bomb (it is inscect sized) http://lexx.wikia.com/wiki/Thodin?file=Bugbomb.png "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |

In the Quest Books for SF there is a portable computer called a Ting I wonder if it was something like this? "Never fire a laser at a mirror." |
