Looking for players

Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this...

I am starting a StarFrontiers campaign that I'm going to run using the Roll20 webapp.  I plan to run weekly on Thursday nights, starting 8pm EST, aiming to end well before midnight.

Starting date TBA -> delaying until I have confirmed players.

Rules: AlphaDawn / KnightHawks with a few house rules. For AlphaDawn, most significant change is that damage is modified by the number that you rolled to hit.  For KnightHawks, most significant change is vector-based movement.

Setting: The Frontier, Dramune System, OuterReach, Styrigia, University Dome, SubLevel 17, Scooney's Saloon, 4th floor apartments.  Characters will begin play as roommates, recent graduates of Styrigia university.  This is the best formal education that OuterReach has to offer, which isn't saying much.  Without government funding, corporate backing, or further family support, it's time to get a job.  On top of that, each character will start with a significant debt from a rapidly compounding education loan.  Oh, and rent is due at the end of the tenday...

Theme: I'm aiming for sandbox play (with adventure hooks), centered around the dark and gritty OuterReach setting. It will probably feel a bit more like cyber-punk or pulp.  In the long term, I'd expect players to move out into the rest of the universe, but this is the starting environs and should have plenty of interesting things to do.

I'm posting first on this forum to find fans of the game and setting.  I'm aiming for maximum seven players, but at least three. If I don't fill from here, I'll post on Roll20 next week.

If you are interested, please use the forum system here to send me a message.  At that point, I'll give you a code to enter the Roll20 campaign so you can look over the house rules and setting more closely without committing to anything.

Sounds fun.  I love the starting concept.  Wish I could play but it won't fit into my schedule.  Good luck finding players.  (And this is a perfectly acceptable place to post this.)  You might also try the Google+ Star Frontiers community and the Star Frontiers ... Alive and Well group on Facebook as a source of players.   I know there has been interest expressed in the past to find games to participate in.

I'd love to take a look. I haven't played *anything* in years.

I hope I'd be welcome in you game.

Thanks!

Thanks TerlObar.  Unless I'm confused, we're already in one StarFrontiers campaign together.  Besides, if this goes well, I plan to submit at least some of the material as magazine articles.

Unfortunately, I avoid Facebook and Google+ doesn't seem very apt for passing private messages like a Roll20 campaign entrance URL.  I figure if I give it a week here, and a week on Roll20, I should find plenty of players.

SFAndroid, I sent you a private message with the URL.  Hope you like what you see, because I'd love to have some veteran players on board.

Well, the only game I'm playing in is Wade's (Black_Falcon's) TSES campaign so if you're in that one, then you aren't confused.

And I'm always excited for magazine submissions so I look forward to them.

As to passing on information, yes, the posts in G+ and Facebook aren't the best place but they both do have private messaging functions that could be used.  I get private messages via G+ all the time.  I've never looked into how to do it exactly but I know it is possible.

Joshwekang2015 - I'm not sure if that was a request for a Roll20 key or not.

That was a spammer fishing for peeps to click on his link. On this site spammer equals sathar agent and provokes a simmilar response.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I've sent you an email Lance with details.

Also, for anybody who just wants to take a look at my maps, house rules, background, and meta, I think the following link will let you into the site (but not into the game itself).

Wow, sounds great!  It's too bad I'm not really available these days.  I homeschool my kids and they are now doing high school level work, which keeps me pretty busy!

Anyway, good luck to you.  I'll be there in spirit!
