Malcadon April 24, 2015 - 10:22pm | The only auxiliary ships I can find are form Frontier Explorer magazine. Spacefleet’s Signal Corps (FE#4) •UFP Talnor-class Communications Ship UPF Supply & Fast Combat Support Ships (FE#8) • UPF Protecteur-class Supply Ship • UPF Supply-class Fast Combat Support Ship I looked through all the issues of Frontier Explorer and The Star Frontiersman, but I could not find anymore. It would be nice for find more. This is a good start. |
TerlObar April 25, 2015 - 8:23am | The Jump Tug (SFMan #11 IIRC) could be considered an auxiliary ship as well as it can be used to transport assets that are damaged or otherwise couldn't move under their own power. Or you could use it as a poor man's carrier for assualt scouts to save the overhaul time on their engines on longer trips. Strap them on, make the jump and as soon as the jump is over detach the assault scouts to maneuver with the rest of the force. Ad Astra Per Ardua! I think the jump tug is ideal for colonial governments- even in system it has plenty of uses- bringing in impounded ships. Emergency rescue (particularly of system ships) and if they ever need to deploy their assault scouts beyond their system it functions as the poor man's carrier. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
