jedion357 July 26, 2014 - 6:18pm | Following is a download link for Dragon 126 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CB8QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fannarchive.com%2Ffiles%2FDrmg126.p... page 66 has a two page article, "There are ways of maiking you talk" which is basically an optional strap on rule for Top Secret interrogations. looks like a straight up d100 mechanic which makes it fairly easy to adapt to Star Frontiers. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Putraack July 27, 2014 - 1:21pm | EDIT: It took me a while to get to the article. This is an expansion/rewrite of the original Contact Reaction Table in TS, most of which I agree with. You'll still need the original table, though. TS was my first RPG, and still holds a special place in my heart. I haven't used that table in a loong time, but it certainly could be tweaked for SF. I don't know that I ever thought of doing that. |

I have a few irons in the fire right now would you consider writing a tweak for SF? is sounds like your familiarity with TS has more depth than mine. I mean it was from Dragon and not canon TS, but still... There is actually a table of modifers but it still looks simple enough. I would not let the players see the table or any interrogation will turn into OK we'll do Z,Y, & Z from the table and roll for every interrogation. Instead I would force the players to come up with there own interrogation techniques and roll secretly leaving them wondering if the NPC has told the truth or not. You must have caught me on a good day, my reaction roll wasn't to shudder, "I'm too busy!" It's Friday, I have a gaming-full weekend ahead of me and then my sons start school on Wednesday. I will make a note to start drafting after that, fair enough? |
