Starting a new game on-line

There have been some rumblings of desire to locate or start a new Star Frontiers game on-line in various locations and I'm starting to feel that itch myself.  So I thought I'd throw the idea out there and see what comes flying back.

I'm thinking to at least start it as a play by post game.  Eventually, I'd like to do the occasional live session via something like Roll20.net or even just google hangouts.

So questions for the crowd are:

1) Who's interested in playing
2) Should we start with basic starting level characters or more advanced characters (and if so how much advanced)?
3) What kind of campaign would you be interested in?  For example, I could ressurect my Obar Enterprises campaign where the PC's are trouble shooters for a small organization with a ship and a lot of lattitude but assigned jobs, or we could go more open ended where the PC's just go where their noses take them.  Or anything in between.  What flavor would you be interested in playing?
4) Post rate?  How often should the game update?  Once a week, twice a week, something else?
5) Any other thoughts?

Hopefully we can get a live play game going but mine is going to have to be PbP for now (we're having an new baby in less than a month so I don't think I'm going to have a regular schedule for a while Foot in mouth).

I'm starting to get some background material on-line for my game.  I'm calling it "A Pale Beginning".  Details can be found on the A Pale Begining page in the Game Material section on the Star Frontiers Network Wiki.  I'll be getting tha populated over the next week or so and get the forums set up to start character generation.

I am psyched form this! I specifically played a dralasite for shadow's game so I would know which was which character.

Ok for the "Bring on the Criminals- Assault on SS Omicron" game I developed a scarred/wounded/troubled yazirian with anger issues and he likes to play with things that go boom. Oh yeah and there is that little matter of the Fo1 and his clan both want him dead.

For a Pale Dawn: SW1 game I'm assuming that the fan cannon of Pale being cold and snowy will hold. In light of the Winter Olympics being recent I've decided that my character will have a hobby- biathlon: ski and shoot sports. sets him up to transition to a resistance movement once the worms land. He'll also need a day job I think so I'm leaning toward crime scene investigation to give him a little science in his skill set. the "Skilled Frontier" rules actually aid in creating such a character so this is perfect.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Would prefer live play, but will still be interested in post play. Sent a character concept to Terl. Waiting to see if I get a note back on it, or if I get a you can't be serious comment. I have a backup concept in mind that might ruffle less feathers just in case.

Terl I don't see the new game on the SF Network site.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Its in the wiki, He's created a house rules page and character slots. I suspect that he's waiting to open the forums area.

@Ellzee - I'm going to approve your character concept with some modifications to the rule systems in question.  I'll post details and e-mail you later today or tomorrow.

Okay, the game forum is up.  Here a direct link:

http://starfrontiers.info/forum/viewforum.php?f=87

Or you can just go to the main forums page on http://starfrontiers.info and it's there in the game section.  I've gotten all the rules for character generation up on the wiki page and jedion357 already has his character up.  If you have any questions or comments or run into any problems, just let me know.

I've got some more background information to get posted but there is enough there to get started.  Get your character created and we'll get this game underway.

Still looking for players.  I know of two that are working on characters and we have two alrady.  If anyone wants to get in from the beginning, now is the time.  I also just opened up the pregame thread with a background post.  You can check it out here:

A Pale Beginning: Prologue

If anyone wants to join in and needs help getting started, just let me know.

Ditto for the bad guys game (which is also in the pre-game interactive phase at the moment). We could use a couple more players. I can go forward with what we have and merge new players in later, but the more the merrier.

Yeah, I'm running a bit behind still on mine.  Things are getting better but I'm in the process of changing jobs and life is a little crazy.
