CEO- Chang
Kim Lee Megacorp- PAN-GALACTIC CORPORATION Race- Human Homeworld-
Port Loren, Gran Quivera, Prenglar Megacorp Headquarters-
Port Loren, Gran Quivera, Prenglar Public History-It should be made clear that Chang Kim Lee is not
the founder of PGC. PGC was founded as a Megacorp 331 years ago. Even before
then it took the original founder so time to build the company up. Still the
founder did pass his controlling interest on to his on to his daughter who ably
continued at the head of Megacorp. But her reign was cut short as during the 3rd
year of the Laco War, she and most of her family were killed in a shuttle
accident. Some suspected Streel involvement but nothing was ever proved. This
turned the company over to a cousin who never expected to have it. In fact he
had been studying archeology when forced to step in. He agreed but only when
the board of directors agreed to sponsor archeological digs. The cousin’s reign
was marked by not bad leadership but unrealistic leadership. The Frontier had
changed. PGC was no longer the sole Megacorp or even the leading Megacorp in
many fields and this began the slow sliding downfall of PGC. That is until Chang Kim Lee stepped in. Born and
raised in Port Loren to parents who worked for PGC, Dad in a factory and Mom as
a shopkeeper. He always knew he would work for PGC and often accompanied one of
his parents to work to learn the business. After graduating college he started
an internship which led to many different positions until finally he became a
quality inspector. This took him off Gran Quivera for the first time and
exposed him to other ways of doing things and other Megacorps. Chang Kim Lee
quickly realized how bad things were going for PGC and vowed to not let his
company go down. Returning
to Gran Quivera, Chang Kim Lee began a multi-prong take over. He started to
acquire large amounts of stock and to take control of the proxy vote for many
more. He also worked to achieve a position on the board as Vice President of
New Marketing. Chang Kim Lee made contacts with others, from factory managers
to other executives, who realized the downward spiral of the company and banded
them together. At the appropriate time a sort of bloodless coup was held and
the cousin gladly left to pursue his real interests and Chang Kim Lee became
the CEO of PGC. Real History-Most of the publically known story is actually spot
on. Chang Kim Lee dismantling
and rebuilding PGC into its current form were the necessary steps to keep the
company afloat. While there are hundreds, if not thousands of conspiracy
theories about PGC they are simply not true (we believe). Chang Kim Lee is not
married and has no living relatives. He has devoted his entire life so far to
PGC and plans to keep it that way. Present- Chang
Kim Lee continues to run a company which is still undergoing
changes. He hopes to one day bring PGC back up to its former glory but knows it
will not happen in his lifetime. He has initiated an executive training program
and plans to turn over his assets to a handpicked successor to prevent what
happened before. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
jedion357 August 14, 2013 - 2:31am | I like how this history explains the idiocy that is Laco's War- a company out of control with unrealistic leadership. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
rattraveller August 14, 2013 - 8:20am | Should consider moving the death of the daughter to the first year of the Laco War. That would allow the new CEO more time to escalate something that probably should not have been escalated. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
jedion357 August 14, 2013 - 9:34am | I think we could use three names to put on the family tree of the founder of PGC, its a small detail but one that should not get overlooked. I also like the idea of a somewhat embittered ousted archaeologist running The PGC archaeological team from the Zeb cook encounter- it explains the company ousting him as CEO and giving him the directorate of PGC operations on Laco (after the war) as a sop and he's cranky scientist who contorlls the Laco operations much like he controlled the corporation constantly worried about artifact theives and lack of the kind of cooporation from Star Law that he thinks he should recieve. Sets him up as an antagonistic NPC on laco. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
rattraveller August 14, 2013 - 9:05pm | OK details for the total put together. Will add to notes. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
jedion357 August 15, 2013 - 12:21am | OK details for the total put together. Will add to notes. This short history would be a good write up for a 1-2 page article in the FE magazine- we like shorter stuff since the magazine has a page count limit. Something short like this becomes ideal filler material when we have just 2-3 pages left. I sure we could come up with a good character sketch and this would be great material to submit to the zine; perhaps put it under a sub headline of Corporate Connections. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
