I'm always fascinated by these stories

Got me thinking how to use it in the frontier- adventure where one leg of the mystery is to locate the body of one of the first settlers on Minotaur, Theseus.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

The good thing about this kind of adventure is that it can take place in an urban setting as compared to the usual way out in nowhere settings.

For ideas I suggest a Bones marathon.
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I wonder what it says about our society that there are a number of popular shows where stupid FBI agents are helped by super smart scientist or mathematicians? or variations on the theme- like the new Sherlock Holmes in NYC show that I must admit to enjoying.

I'm thinking that this would do with a healthy dash of National Treasure which is more action+quasi scientific discovery vs the CSI/Bones which are discovery/lab work and science geeks

I think the SF version of "Richard" would need a controversy about him in setting: some people veiw him one way with some people viewing him the other and in the course of the adventrue the PCs will discover the truth. Also was thinking that when the PCs discover his grave and dig him up they also discover an alien artifact that is shocking in some maner: its a sathar or klikk artifact or even tetrarc  or something else that might be shocking. at this point you might cue the corporate goon squad.

110FY A human assassin fails in his attempt to shoot Queanee Kloonanu, chairman of the Council of Worlds. A small bioform is found attached to the human's back. Scientific studies show it to be some kind of intelligent, parasitic organism with the same genetic make-up as Sathar specimens. Authorities believe it to be a new Sathar method of controlling agents. See-through apparel becomes fashionable almost immediately.

Nothing has ever been worked up on this.  What if the dead guy has one of these attached to his back.  This could be a mystery if it is before 110FY that the guy is dug up.  It could be cause of panic if the guy is dug up after 110FY.  Either way the scientist will be asking how long the Sathar have been involved with the frontier races?

I was also thinking that the mystery involved could be connected to the immigration to the frontier either for humans or for yazirians
