Shadow Shack December 31, 2012 - 5:59pm | Private enterprise will certainly take us farther and faster than government intervention a.k.a. impediment. |
FirstCitizen December 31, 2012 - 7:49pm | Unification might spur faster expansion, like in The Long Run (http://www.immunitysec.com/resources-dkm.shtml written by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Keys_Moran). (the right) Benevolent Dictator + non-corrupt subordinates could really shift the focus on space development. :) But yeah, as it stands now private enterprise is our last best hope. |
jedion357 December 31, 2012 - 8:38pm | Commerce is always good to move things along. For instance the commercial development of alligator farms in Florida helped to down grade the American alligator's endangered status and who knew- gator ribs aint bad. One can help but wonder if they started Rhino farms to breed and raise rhinos for meat and their horns that it would help save them from extinction at the hands of poachers or to help save wild rhinos from having to have their horn chopped off to prevent their being killed for it. And hey a rhino packs a lot of pounds that is a lot of meat in parts of the world where people go hungery. So bring on the mega corps exploiting space! I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
