bossmoss October 27, 2012 - 1:54am | Of all the Star Frontiers species mentioned in the books, modules & articles, the Zethra remain the least-used. |
jedion357 October 27, 2012 - 5:34am | I think that the zethra fill a roll that is outlined in the D&D 4.0 as an adventure companion, in AD&D the roll was less codified but the term used there that might have fit was henchman. They always remind me, despite the rather good artwork in the Dragon article, of the beach ball alien in the movie Dark Star which was just 20 different kinds of cheesy to the max. So I have never really been interested in using them much and for an adventure companion I would prefer something different- a cybot whose human personality and memories were incompletely erased from his human brain, or a vimh, or possibly a jakar. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
bossmoss October 28, 2012 - 2:14am | I have never actually used them myself. I have considered having one as a bartender or wandering encounter, but haven't actually done it. |
jedion357 October 28, 2012 - 3:20am | I'd probably use them that way myself or in an adventure where I needed an agency to cause complication for the the PCs but not actually be a stand up enemy. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
