Well I'll be damned....I knew about SF Remastered, and the Star Frontiersman, but for some reason I completly overlooked the forums.  Darn Sathar brain washing.

Anyhoo, nice to see there's some SF activity out there on the internets.  SF was the first RPG I bought myself (friend taught me D&D, that got me wanting to try anotherone).  Loved the game and still love it to this day.  I've wanted to create a Fantasy Grounds ruleset for Star Frontiers, but lack of XML knowledge has made it difficult, so that's hindered some online play.

Cool stuff, looking forward to seeing more :)

Welcome. Check out the projects if you get a chance. There's even *more* forums in there. This site is a wealth on info!

We discuss different topics in the General forums. Like OnceFarOff said, Project's having their own forums, documents and downloads. It's where specific topics are discussed like how to simulate sathar brain washing in modern earth. Oh.. uhm. That's NOT something that we discuss. We have no plans for such a... mechanism. Nope. Move along.

Welcome Mr_H!

Welcome to our sector of the Frontier.
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

Thanks all :)
The projects look like they can keep someone busy for a while.  Is that where you'd go to find online games as well?

There is one on-line game starting up there  (the CSS William Logan project) but all of the on-line games currently running (most of which are on life support) are on other sites.  Send me a message and I'll compile a list of the semi-active games.  There aren't any really active ones right at the moment (at least not that I'd call really active).

And yes, the projects can keep you busy for a real long while if you're set on reading through all of them.

Mr_H,
I run a semi-weekly Star Frontiers game online via Google Hangouts. I've taken a break due to time constraints, it's starting back up next weekend. It's not as good a face-to-face but it's better than not playing SF. :-)

Drop me a PM with your email and I'll add you to the announcement list. Or, add me on G+.

Terlobar, don't you have play-by-post on the sf.org/sf.info site? Or did they die down during the summer months?

Here's a resource for online-play that we've been piecing together;
Content of Star Frontiersman project

Star Frontiers Online Play

SFOP is designed to help Referee's run games online. This document should serve as a resource to assist you, the Referee, in finding online tools, utilities and virtual game tables.

Star Frontiers Google Docs - Maps, counters, etc
  • If you DO NOT have a google account (it's free) you can download the images, however the power of the documents is having a google account since it will allow you to manipulate the maps.
  • If you HAVE a google account, click on File > Make a Copy and you can edit all the images and layers (The maps are read-only)
Dave's Mapper - Slick geomorph mapping tool, includes city tiles.

MapTool Project - full featured virtual table top, this project is building a framework for Star Frontiers. MapTool home page.

Google Hangouts - Part of Google Plus, great way to have face-to-face play. Integrated with Google Docs to share maps.

http://roll20.net/ is anoter browser-based resource for online gaming. It has a lot of neat features.

The Frontier Expedition Force is sending you to the far reaches of Snowball in hopes of finding evidence of sathar activity. Ghasd Frem, a member of Sector Six will be your team leader.

Do you have wits to survive?

A Star Frontiers game.

Space Rats is still going, alas not as active as it once was. The few remaining players chime in once a month so it's really slow going.

And even more time consuming for those brave enough to host a project. ;)

So imagine a dralasite professor teaching topics to yazirian students. A vrusk professor teaching humans about human anatomy..... :-)
