 August 6, 2012 - 2:11pm | It's been nearly six months since the Virtual Con and I've heard from quite a few people that they wished they hadn't missed the first one and asking when I was going to set up another. I've been a little swamped with kids over the summer and am getting to it a little later than I had hoped but I've finally gotten to setting up another one. The website is now up for the Star Frontiers NetCon 2012, another on-line gaming con like the Virtual Con back in March. The site looks amost identical since I'm resusing much of the infrastructure from that con. The dates for this one are Sept 14-15th. It's only a few short weeks away but most of the registration and advertising for the last one occured in the last month anyway. This one may or may not work out due to the timing but any later in the year simply didn't work for me to spearhead the organization of it. Going foward, this will be an annual event and will probably shift earlier in the year in the coming years. Right now there are no games scheduled and we need referees to schedule games. I'll be running at least two sessions, one will be a short encounter session like I ran last time and the other will be a KH board game session. I just need to decide exactly what to run and I'll get my sessions posted. Whether you want to referee or just play go ahead and register for the con. Just like last time, Con participants are eligible to get one of the 30th Anniversary patches. So if you missed it the first time, you have another chance.  August 7, 2012 - 7:19am | I'm considering GM'ing a game. I'd like to do a practice session with MapTool and/or Google hangouts to prepare myself in using these tools so that I'm comfortable GM'ing. -iggy |
