 February 27, 2012 - 1:10pm | In this post: http://www.starfrontiers.us/node/6266#comment-24832 it was discussed creating a basic info portfolio for new players which is a good idea but equally I thought that we should do the same thing for the alien races as I know that I've encountered players who said they'd play a human cause the didn't know how to play one of the aliens. So the idea here is to work on a one sheet- goal is one side of a 8.5x11 though it if goes over by an inch or two i dont think that will be the end of the world. History- 2-3 paragraphs basically that the immigrated to the Frontier after the other three races met. Do we want to say they had a "Star Exodus" fleeing the destruction of their homeworld? Its an idea I've been pushing. It could be that we call it a star exodus and not say why. Family of One needs to be one brief paragraph and possibly suggest some tensions in yazirian society with those who dont want to swallow Fo1's heavy handedness. Clan structure 1 paragraph brief, explanation of clan as family (not human style families) Refer anyone interested in clans to the clan article in the sfman. Racial Weapons. About a paragraph on that with references to more information. Honor Code: About a paragraph on that plus reference to sfman 18 article on the honor code for more information. Perhaps a discussion on racial abilities - one paragraph. anything else to get a new player up and running playing a yazirian? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
 March 13, 2012 - 9:20pm | What about combat tactics? They can glide and attack, shoot out the lights inside a building to use their night vision, etc. Dral's can peer around corners, fit in tight places, etc. |
September 9, 2012 - 11:42am | I've been reviewing threads in this project and got back to thinking about a Guide to Yazirian Society or essays on yazirians or whatever. Note a guide book of essays on the yaz is quite a bit more than the originial idea for the Essential yazirian document. I think there is enought material to produce a document of magazine size with essays on: yazirian society (clan structure, child rearing etc) the Star Exodus Yazirian history article (not written) The Family of One (there is a written article due out soon) A yazirian analysis (cleaned up and rewritten) on Dicken's A Christmas Carol The yazirian honor code Honor weapons Legend of the First Clan Yazirian fauna Anything I miss that should be included? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
