I just read about this and thought I would post it up here too: Steve Winter and Rich Baker have been let go from Wizards. Both of them were some of the TSR old guard still left around and who had great design insights.

And, pertaining to us specifically, Steve was the editor for Star Frontiers.

Here's hoping they get picked up by a company that recognizes their talent!

Seems the D&D community is sorely disappointed with the company over this. For myself I feel sorry for anyone who get the boot before Christmas as I know what it feels like. Can't say that the news has emotional impact for me beyond that as I've little interest in the company these days.
I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Fixed that for ya. You really didn't need to add "over this" at the end Wink
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

...this, and that, and... hey look... something else! Wink
Limitless reasons abound, take a number, get in line, and/or move on to find other broken things to fix.

Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".

if you square a cube does it become an octoid?

You listed this as an anual event so who else or what else have they done before Solstice to others?
Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go?

I hear they also steal candy from gamers :)

It seems that this isn't the first year they've had layoffs just before Christmas.  I guess it is common enough that even the artist that does the Munchkin cards did a comic on it on his personal site.

Releasing scores of crappy rehashes of good games.
