I’m thinking along the lines of red ants, black ants, termites, etc. Was this part of the cause of the ancient wars before the Vrusk rose to supremacy? Did the ancient Vrusk wipe out all other vruskan species or do some remain? Are these species more like races among the humans and they are absorbed into the vruskan bloodline? -iggy |

November 20, 2011 - 5:04pm | I was not thinking of this controlling a vrusk's use in society. Red ants have workers, warriors, queens, and males as do the black ants. They are just a different variety of ant. What if in ancient times the Vrusk were more genetically diverse? Definitely at a racial level; color, size, carapace nuances; but maybe even as a species so the variation can be greater and cross breeding doesn't work. There could have been horrific wars over resources and the Vrusk won out in the end as the most intelligent and adaptable. Those that were species different died out. Others who were racial variations were assimilated or died out. This could be fun to put a little variation into the Vrusk look. Color variation might not be as extreme as red and black but rather shades of green and carapace nuances. A Vrusk well trained in genetics would be able to notice ancient hive affiliation in a Vrusk by it's outer characteristics. I'm in a love hate relationship with this idea and want to explore it before casting it off as too convoluted for playability. -iggy |
November 20, 2011 - 8:07pm | Well what if this is a chance to recast the old urban myth of primitive throw back humans being discovered on earth and rewrite it into the vrusk? that deep in the jungles of Fromeltar (the Pan Gal name for the vrusk home world) are pockets or a pocket of "red ant" vrusk surviving and just waiting to be discovered? sounds like the foundation of a module. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
