I am reading over the expanded rules (advancing my kids out of basic rules) and just realized how uncool the SF vehicles are. Originally I believed that their electric powered vehicles were the least believable aspect of the game. After all, who really believes there can be an effective and efficient green energy car?Wink   But I didn't realize that they were so slow. I imagined hover bikes screaming across the city-scape, and I suppose they could...if you mounted a deer alert whistle to your front fender. They top out at what, about 60-65 mph? (sorry, metric is no friend of mine.) And ground cycles cruising speed is under 40mph? Sounds like our modern day scooters. All I know about piloting aircraft I learned from TV, but a max speed of 200 mph kinda takes the jet out of jet copter doesn't it?

Has anyone come up with new stats for vehicles? Maybe second generation tech? And what about internal combustion vehicles? I don't believe I saw a reference to any. They seem to be stronger, faster and more dependable. Surely on some frontier worlds they are still used. The Volturnus mod made reference to the pirates having crude oil samples and mentioned refining (I believe) for fuel.

I believe I updated the vehicle list in my non-civilian duty vehicles in the star frontiersman.

Maybe taking the AD rules a little too literally. I would assume that a lot of the stats were put together to give a playable game stats for combat and movement. You could shoot out or at a skimmer doing 80 or 120 but the chances to hit and maneuver are really low. As a rememedy I would just double the stats. If you want to do 80 double the stats at 40, if you want to do 120 tripple, and 160 qudruple. and the reverse in manuvering and combat reduce by 1/2, 3/4, and finally nill.

AZ you have a good point. Inigo, #15, start with Shadow Shack article on page 24, my vehicle list is on page 30.
