Anonymous October 14, 2011 - 10:40am | For you D&D fans, we present the lastest module from DwD Studios, Dark Times in Brighton. The town of Brighton exists in the north, at the source of the Daakencraags where the Darkenwolde Forest shades the winding Brother’s River. The legendary adventurer, Richan Thatcher (along with his party of adventurers) carved the place away from a once mighty goblin kingdom. It has prospered for many long decades, until now.
Townsfolk are disappearing from the surrounding countryside. Goblins are on the march once more. If that wasn’t enough, a terrible blighting disease has infected the waters and not even the curative magics of the Temple of the Winds can thwart it. This is indeed a very dark time for Brighton.
Too old to do anything about it himself, Thatcher has sent out a call to any adventurers who will swear their swords to his mighty town and its innocent people. Note: Were working on a Savage Worlds coversion, should be up in 2 weeks. |
jedion357 October 14, 2011 - 3:15pm | Nice cover and blurb. Good job w00t and bill I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack October 15, 2011 - 9:48am | I saw this recently at the dragonsfoot forums, someone else involved with the project posted it over there. I'll try and find it again... {EDIT} LOL it was Bill, I didn't realize he was a member over there too. |

w00t (not verified) October 16, 2011 - 7:32pm | I think we all agree you're a nerd no-matter where you post. lol |
SMKSensei October 16, 2011 - 7:41pm | I'll personally endorse this, as I've done a lot of pre-reads and some play-tests. We really enjoyed the setting/storyline and cool maps! (I played it with 1974 OD&D rules though....) |
CleanCutRogue October 16, 2011 - 7:46pm | I play with Moldvay/Cook version myself, which Labyrinth Lord clones. I'll personally endorse this, as I've done a lot of pre-reads and some play-tests. I play with Moldvay/Cook version myself, which Labyrinth Lord clones. Yeah, that's cool. Not too much difference. "Essentially" the same. I just like my 3LBB's and cool OD&D wooden game box. In some ways, OD&D (with the Greyhawk Supplement) is more like a rough draft of 1e AD&D than Basic/Expert. But essentially, you can go back and forth pretty easily between all the editions up thru 2e AD&D |
SMKSensei October 16, 2011 - 8:19pm | "Note: Were working on a Savage Worlds coversion, should be up in 2 weeks."[sic] :-) ...and I'm hoping a BBF version??? |

I play with Moldvay/Cook version myself That should be a natural prerequisite for anyone that plays both SF and D&D. After all, Moldvay was practically the father of Star Frontiers. I mean, I sincerely TRIED to enjoy the Holmes and Mentzer rules...but my heart always belonged to Star Frontiers and the Moldvay/Cook D&D rules were a natural compliment to my non-SF gaming needs. |
