Settled with refugees of the Free World rebellion kdikit, Kawdl-Kit has remained a light population world.

Despite the cutting edge research that goes on here Kawdl-Kit is a major resort destination.

It has both an armed space station (space fleet controlled) and a resort station in orbit.

Kawdl-kit is a mecca for hover bike racing. Hover bike racing is a planetary passion with rich vrusk and vrusk companies sponsoring racing teams the racing culture is very competitive. However, all across the Frontier the perception is that you haven't won nothing till you've competed on Kawdl-kit.

There is a bit of a rough sub culture beneath the surface of vrusk society that is thoroughly mixed with all four races. Its dominated by biker gangs but gets pruned back by vrusk corporate security if it boils over to the attention of "proper" vrusk society.

Environmental Concerns: light gravity, 30 hour day, no moons.

I'm envisioning a fairly temperate environment with huge redwood like trees in major forested areas- plains, canyons, rivers, and major lakes- some desert areas closer to the equator.

all of those are proposed with hoverbike racing in mind to provide varied and interesting off road terrain for that sport. red woods are just because I thought we might as well pander to the speed bike chase in Return of the Jedi.

figuring lots of avian creatures and arboreal creatures but might as well have some large herds on the plains to play obstacle to the cyclists.

Note to self: look up shadow shack's cycle gang article.

EDIT: what would be the ultimate off road race? 1000 km? 2000 km? or 5000 km?

Zebs footnote on Kawdl-Kit says that its the UPF outpost charged with scanning for sathar in the direction of the White Light Nebulae. Perhaps the reason for the armed space station? No doubt patrol groups stage through here often, with a patrol group of a frigate and two assualt scouts seeming to be a ubiquitous fixture though the names of those ships change often there always seems to be a continuous patrol presence.

Commerce regs are not of the same level of interest to Space Fleet captains as they would be to a militia captain. So there is the inevitable smuggling though with White Light being the next jump route toward the Frontier's center and its militia being on top of commerce regulation, smuggling is not quite the problem it could be. Certainly gun running from Kawdl-Kit through White Light is not popular with smugglers. Instead corporate espionage, illicit agricultural items grown on Ken'zah-Kit in K'aken-Kar system one jump beyond are quite common among smuggled cargos.

Native planets (from issue 17)

The Ki'irdt nut of the ki'di'ckt tree is native to Kawdl-Kit. It has a rich, buttery flavor and golden brown color. Highly nutricious it must be roasted before consumption as its mildly toxic in its raw state. It can be eaten alone, mashed into paste or paired with sweets. Some humans are allergic to it and must avoid foods paired with it. Costs 3Cr per kg and 2,750 per ton.

The Tharliss flower has a bright orange stamen that is used as a spice in vrusk dishes. Its strong musky flavor is favored by all races. Costs 2Cr per gram and 1,800Cr per kg, and 15,000Cr per ton.

EDIT: planet developed here:

Kar-dit trees- gargantuan giants that make red woods look like pygmies. Common pest: rot worm infestation can lead to a riddled tree trunk that will collapse under its own weight dramatically, luckily the trees grow fast in Kawdl-kits light gravity.

Kawdl Brush- a seed pod bush (approx. 2m round) that propagates itself by breaking off the bush stem and rolls along in high winds depositing seeds all along the way. It prefers hot arid areas and is a common hazzard for vehicles with air intakes requiring jet copters in particular to install louvered air intakes and filtering. Tumbling Kawdl Brush can present a serious hazard during the race.

karni-grass is a dangerous organizm growing in shadied temperate areas in Kar-dit forest, plains and river canyons. within 10 minutes "blades of 10-20cm grass is attempting to grow into an animal or being. 1d10 STA/ turn spent within the Karni-grass.
