jedion357 October 3, 2011 - 2:21pm | There is RW tech with a patent that could allow for a "force field" to hold back atmosphere in an open hanger bay. May even be able to hold back nine atmospheres. Couple of drawbacks though: right now we can only make it one inch in diameter and the temperature is 15,000 Kelvins which is like 2,6540 F. So Mr. SPOCK testing a force fails with his index finger is certainly contra indicated.

iggy October 3, 2011 - 5:49pm | Interesting! The article states that the window emits a bright glow the color of the gas used. Using noble gasses would likely be common so neon lights would be a common example for us today. I imagine that red fielded doors are, "Warning! Do Not Enter" -iggy |
