Shadow Shack October 1, 2011 - 4:53pm | If I still had my old PC I could supply the actual story that went with that pic. It came from Dick Gozeinya's SF forum game that Pariah took over. Sadly there was a huge data crash/dump there and everything was lost. I'll try to come up with what it was on memory... |

Shadow Shack October 2, 2011 - 6:06am | About five years ago. Self-assessment dictates that I really need to resist the urge for ruining line art with color. I've just never grasped the concept of color. I've taken classes, private instructions, read books...and I just can't get that down to save my life. Yet I fall victim to temptation far too often. |

Have you noticed the line art that turned up in the rules and the modules that was first drawn and then inked in black then colored or shaded with water color- its all in black and white so I dont really know if it was aimed at coloring it or simply shading but I always admired it. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack October 2, 2011 - 3:08pm | My other quirk: far too often I merely sketch with the pencil and then leap in headfirst with the pen...instead of fleshing out with the pencil, I just get the basic form down and flesh it out with the pen. I don't know why I like to rush myself like that. Been a while since I perused that stuff, but IIRC they were merely black & white scans of colored work. Sort of like making a xerox of color art but it comes out better. You can do the same thing with the Larry Elmore cover art, run it through your Paint Shop Pro etc and hit the grey scale functions to make it black & white. |
