My son and I rolled up basic characters, I started with the text choices then we deviate. Good times.

Gonna go "Basically Speaking" with him?
I'm not overly fond of Zeb's Guide...nor do I have any qualms stating why. Tongue out

As inspiration! Instead of enlistee's in CRM were going to remain part of the PGC Security Division (after our current mission).

Couple things to note about the rules;
  1. Nobody dies. When they reach 0 STA they are unconscious.
  2. No skills. All rolls are full ability with exceptions. As the game progress you obtain skill along the way. It's assumed you have the skills necessary for your current occupation. When you want to do something outside your occupation you roll 1/2 the appropriate ability. At the end of the session if the "thing" you were trying to do is important to the character you can buy expertise in that area to use your full ability. Want to get better at something? Spend experience on abilities, 1 for 1.
It sounds ad-hoc as I write it out. :-)

Certainly lots of possibilities with that. CRM was just my way of introducing a familiar KH setting to the Basic rules setting...there's no reason to limit the basic rules to Port Loren. PGC's Security Division can be a multi-world denomination, with offices on every PGC occupied world (which is to say everything above outpost grade in the Frontier).

Lots of shenanigans you can throw at them such as Streel, corporate spies, pirates, sathar, and even embezzelers within PGC to say the least.
