jacobsar August 20, 2011 - 10:58am | What the heck? Symetry does not compute!
Reasonable men adapt to the world around them; unreasonable men make the world adapt to them. The world is changed by unreasonable men. Edwin Louis Cole |
jedion357 August 20, 2011 - 11:03am | Maybe its loaded. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jacobsar August 20, 2011 - 11:06am | Maybe. I would have to look at one to understand. Reasonable men adapt to the world around them; unreasonable men make the world adapt to them. The world is changed by unreasonable men. Edwin Louis Cole |
jedion357 August 20, 2011 - 11:20am | Instead of a 3sided pyramid its shapes like an A frame house: gives you front, back, 2 sides, and floor for 5 sides total. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jacobsar August 20, 2011 - 11:28am | So...four triangular sides and one square. And it doesn't favor one side? Reasonable men adapt to the world around them; unreasonable men make the world adapt to them. The world is changed by unreasonable men. Edwin Louis Cole |
jedion357 August 20, 2011 - 11:46am | No, I believe its 3square sides (floor and 2 roof sides ) front and back would be the only triangles. At least that is what I see in the picture I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jacobsar August 20, 2011 - 12:11pm | Oh. That makes more sense.
Reasonable men adapt to the world around them; unreasonable men make the world adapt to them. The world is changed by unreasonable men. Edwin Louis Cole |
Captain Rags August 20, 2011 - 12:21pm | Well the d5 will certainly replace rolling a d6 and rerolling whenever a 6 comes up, or otherwise rolling a d10 and dividing by 2. My SF website izz: http://ragnarr.webs.com |
Shadow Shack August 20, 2011 - 12:30pm | I dunno, it looks like three skinny sides and two broad sides to me. It would be akin to gluing three pennies together...flip it onto a table and it might land on heads or tails (most likely) or simply roll on its side (least likely but still feasible). A die has to have all sides equal. This looks like utilizing a domino for a d6...it will most likely end up on one of two sides. |
w00t (not verified) August 20, 2011 - 7:38pm | I've found it very well balanced. It looks all science-fiction'ish. We also picked up glow in the dark d10's and a d10 that's two d5's. It was fun using crayon for the "inking" process, although next time I'll spring for a permanent white marker. |
jedion357 August 21, 2011 - 4:53am | It was fun using crayon for the "inking" process, although next time I'll spring for a permanent white marker. Ah yeah, I remember the days when a Box set from TSR contained low quality dice and a crayon to "ink" in the numbers. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Sargonarhes August 21, 2011 - 6:13am | Wouldn't a pentagon shaped cube get the same effect. You know as long as the 5 lengths are long enough and the ends are shaped so it can't stand on them. Much like how the gem style dice work. In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |
