Any interest in a live on-line game?

I'm thinking about starting up (or attempting to restart) a "live" on-line campaign (via skype + OpenRPG or something similar) and was wondering if there would be any interest in actually playing this game instead of just talking about it Smile.  We tried something like this in the past but it was very sporatic and didn't work out.  And maybe it won't work out this time as well as I think the biggest hurdle is the fact that we span too many time zones to really make it work.  But who knows, maybe it will.

I'm thinking along the lines of one night a week or maybe every other week but it will be a regular schedule and if you want to participate you would need to commit to being there every session just as you would for a regular "in-person" game.

I haven't really decided if I want to run a "start from scratch" entry level AD game or start like my OE game with the players all possessing a level 1 KH skill but I'm leaning more toward the former.  In any case it will be a mostly standard rules campaign with a sprinking of house rules.

If anyone is interested, post in the comments below and list which days of the week (and what times on those days) you'd be willing to commit to.  I'd be looking to put together a party of 3-5 characters.  If we can get enough people with the same availability maybe we'll get this to work.  I was going to make a front page poll for this but couldn't seem to find a way to make it possible to have multiple votes (w00t, can that be done?).  I could always do it on my site but the comments work just as well (and allow people to specify times as well as days).

So if you are interested in playing (or running) a live on-line game, pipe up and let us know.

We tried drop-in Referee's and drop-in Player's, which is the most the most flexible system I could think of. If ppl do not have a place to drive they tend to forget. Jedion357 and I showed up faithfully for several Friday's in a row with nobody showing.

If you allowed drop-in Player's and used MapTool I would be intersted.

Poll
You can't do multiple votes, but you can vote for a primary choice then leave a comment on secondary choices. I'll PM how to set this up.

I just went by the game this week and posted- got caught up on 2 online games I sort of let drop off my radar.

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

I remember that umungus and I were the only ones showing up regularly at one point a couple years ago. I would be interested to try again. Like w00t, I would prefer MapTool. Unlike w00t, I prefer a regular group of people you can rely on to be there. The 'drop in' format makes it too easy to stay away if your feeling a little tired or would rather just veg out in front of the idiot box with a beer. When I last participated, we were on a Friday night schedule and I found that I was often a little too fried at the end of a long week of fixing everyone's problems to really relax and enjoy the game (like I am righr now - just trying to compose this response is overclocking that last bundle of braincells that aren't completely fried). I would prefer Saturday evenings. So, in concise detail:

  • interested in a commited group
  • MapTool
  • Saturday evening timeframe

being a recent addition to the boards for just such reasons, I'd be interested...
being a recent addition to the boards, I am (hopfully understandably) hesitant...
being a recent addition to the boards, my detailed prefrences are inconcise...

side topic query: are the MapTool tiles customizabe, could you plug in a Port-Loren map for example?

Very interested in the Game Table Projector set up, I gota get me one of those!
(I think the videos answerd my question... kewlCool, now I need a full-scale Port Loren City Map, so I can do those cross-city drag races with the Devil's and the Ql'ic'q gangs, in real style. Cool)

Oh humans!! Innocent We discover a galactic community filled with multiple species of aliens, and the first thing we think about is "how can we have sex with them?".
