The UPF Intrepid Class Frigate is an slightly modified version of the original Triad Class. The ship features a better profile with a slightly smaller engineering section. While this design saves material costs and reduces the bulky profile it also reduces the stores capacity and cramps working space within the engineering section. In performance, the Intrepid Class is technologically identical to the Triad and is statistically indifferent. The major difference is in total storage volume and cost efficiency which is very important in terms of shipyard production.
