 January 5, 2011 - 6:52pm | With the Frigate being the smallest and most plentiful warship in SFKH it was only logical that they would be a fairly diverse number of models available to choose from. In order of Development 1. Perdition Class - Designed Prior To The Second Sathar War and began production and service during the war. 2. White Light / Obar Class - Designed Post Second Sathar War As A replacement for the Perdition Class. Using many of the design elements found in the Perdition Class, The White Light and Obar Class Frigate designs corrected many of the earlier glitchy features found on the retired Perditions. 3. Dramune Class - Designed And Built Shortly After the White Light Class with a slightly different engine configuration with a PION engine design. 4. Timeon Class - A radical and very modern departure from the angular designs of the the WL and Dramume Classes. Not really intended as a replacement but just a design from a completely indepedant construction contractor that preferred a sleeker streamlined hull. Same contractor also designed the Sentinel Class UPF Destroyer. 5. Dixon Class - The newest and most radically divergent ship using a boxier more angular design inspired by the Second Sathar War era frigate the UFPS Z'Gata. |

 January 18, 2011 - 6:58pm | Most players would assume there are only one design for each type of ship, with only superficial differences for each class of ship, but the official books list a number of variations - more so, with Destroyers (8 variations in all!). These differences are mostly with weapons and defenses, and what is listed in the basic KH rules, and the advanced KH rules (which I assume are older and newer ships). In my research, I uncovered 4 types of Frigates: an older model from basic KH; a newer model from advanced KH; an old Pre-UPF model (the Z'Gata); and an old Sathar variant (the SAV Stinger). I have posted a number of models and variants at the SF Wiki (all they need are good names). |
