a question about a possible submission

I wrote a little bit about the origin and history of this project, what the setting of the game is about and what I hope we can accomplish in this project as a possible submission to SFman in an effort to attract some interest in the project, but I haven't submitted it yet. my reasons are two fold, the first being I don't want to come off as self promoting, and secondly I wanted to know if you guys thought it would be a good idea and a way to generate interest and maybe get some new blood in here.

I think the first (self promotion) is my biggest fear, because I'm not very comfortable being in the spotlight, when I'm not among friends and I would hate to come off as full of myself. I think there's a lot of stuff in this project that people might find enjoyable but how do I let them know its here without sounding like I'm begging for attention?

I didn't want to write anything in Sfman using the mechanics of this system because without some knowledge of the game mechanics it would just be wasting space that could be used for more useful articles, though maybe at some point in the future if this project carches on that might be a possibility, so I went with the approach of just writing an outline about what this project is about and what I'd like to see it grow into.

So what should I do? Submit the article, or hold off?

(PS. I think with issue 17 coming out in February I might have enough of version 4.5 done to release a working copy at about the same time since I should have more computer access now to work on it.)

I have some thoughts but too tired to respond. If you don't hear back from me in a few days please send me a PM.

The Magazine and the Newsletter (http://starfrontiersman.com/newsletter) are good ways to promote a project. I've asked for help with the SFMan Wiki, Zeb's Expanded and other projects using these resources. The Magazine is for the community and we should use it as a tool to promote our projects.

Be comfortable with self-promotion. You need to create an awareness or people won't know the information exists.

When you ready to submit we can work on the best way to present the material.
