jedion357 December 6, 2010 - 6:33am | Phase 1 nearing completion STill needed to tackle the History page but I was delaying that to consider the geography of the system. Still need the mechanics for the spring charge but debate still proceeds on that front in the rules forum. Still need what I refer to as Phase 1a: the Boon'sheh- sort of delaying on this till more is done in the history page Phase 2 Will be: System brief- should be on the level of what was seen in the modules (Crash on Volturnus, or SFKH-0) Information on "system militia" though militia is not a good term for the humma formations planetary governors for Forge and Larg Details of government institutions CFM presence UPF embassy (star law?) Local law enforcement etc. basically information that will assit a GM in running an adventure here Phase 3 is still premature till phase 2 is close to completion though we should continue to brainstorm in the this thread: Refer to: Hopping With the Humma There is some art available but more will help the finish product look as professional as possible I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

jedion357 December 7, 2010 - 6:37am | I Also would like to bring back in this project another blast from the past: issue 1 page 1 Equipment detailed entry level beam weapons. The description of the Blastpistol says, "Not every world is so well equipped as the core worlds of the UPF. In fact, on the Rim worlds, few beam weapon specialists are sporting the latest laser pistol. They carry a Blastpistol." I think its a perfect fit to be manufactured in Fokrik- 1. its short ranged but this isn't a big deal with the humma's spring ability as he can close the range fast. 2. Whats shaping up for a humma history is that they were about '80s-'90s level of earth tech when the CFM contacted them and the humma began aggressively bootstrapping themselves to the stars. So the blastpistol represents the humma being a little behind the rest of the Frontier but making up ground fast. 3. theres a lot of resource and industry detailed for the economies of this system so they have to make something 4. its bluky and a bit clunky like another firearm produced in this system: the boon'sheh multipistol so it fits a bit of a theme. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
TerlObar December 7, 2010 - 9:48am | And I always assumed that the Laser weapons were fairly new to the Frontier (hence their much higher cost). You had the big industrial lasers on-board ship but getting them miniaturized to hand held proportions that could acutally do damage was a relatively new tech. So that would fit in as well if the laser weapons were just starting to show up in the Rim. Ad Astra Per Ardua! jedion357 January 21, 2011 - 1:48pm | Ok, its looking like the Zebs G to the Cults and Cadres will be the first initiative from this project to hit the SFman. In a lot of ways it was the easiest to complete. For now I'm still waiting for the stats and such for the Fockrik system and then I will tackle the history and setting info making sure that it matches whats in the system brief. I would guess that Zebs Guide to the Humma will hit book stands in the April issue. Note anyone play testing the KH's encounters please keep me posted I'm counting you smoke out game balance problems.
