They forgot Zorg from The Fifth Element. Emanuelle Baptist Zorg!! He was dealing in pure evil.

At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy......

Forgot the We Say So Corporation from Dinosaurs.

So exactly how does LexCorp and Wolfram & Hart make it onto a SciFi list (never mind the way superheroes and vampires are completely misrepresented these days)? Or let alone an Austin Powers flick (I loves me a Mike Myers flick, but it ain't no Sci Fi)?

Strike those and I'll cast my vote for that corporation from the 80s "V" television series (Lane Smith's character ran it, can't recall the name) and the Galactic Senate from Star Wars (they were stupid enough to follow Jar Jar's suggestion and vote the chancellor all that power...ignorance is no excuse for evil!).

I'll try and drum up a third one to nix the Austin Powers one...

I also just thought I didn't think OCP was an evil per say corp. Sure in later movies they got worse, but the old man really had good intentions. Even if the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Then I just remembered Anahiem Electronics from Gundam. They were building mobile suits and weapons for both sides, it was passed off as the nature of a corporation. But still it's blatant war profiteering.

Neither is the Tyrell Corporation evil. They just had a product go bad.

What they should include is the corporation in The Gamer (The one that the actor that plays Dexter was playing the C.E.O. of).

They should also add the Vogons from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I'm unclear if the Vogons were private contractors or actual government employees.

Sadly I never read the book so all my knowledge of Vogons comes from the movie. They seemed corporate enough, but to have that private army chased off with a towel. But who says a very large corporation can't have a military arm. Dick Jones from Robocop said they practically were the military when he gave Clarance those micro cannons.

Said "micro-cannons" were Barret .50 caliber sniper rifles and they pretty much ship as they were depicted inthe flick (you supply your own scope). They fire the standard .50 BMG round, which unlike the movie depicts is not a high explosive round, but rather a decent anti-aircraft round though...which is what makes the Barret such a beaut of a weapon - you can hit a human target several miles away and be long gone before anyone comes looking for you. Even the bullet finishes its job long before the sound waves of its discharge arrive on the scene!

Oh I know those micro cannons were just hyped up for the film. I don't even think a 25mm air burst round could make a boom like the Robocop movie made those Barret's do. I just passed it off as some kind of fictitious micro cannon.

They're awesome firearms, in and out of "legal for civilian sale" over the years but it's something everyone should experience at leat once in their life.

There's a pic of me wielding such a piece. I can see why there would be legislation for such guns, people shouldn't be able to have that much fun. I swear after discharging, the muzzle would kick up a ton of dust and gravel...afterwhich you'd have time to get up, dust off your pants, and see the dust cloud a few miles away where the bullet impacts into the side of a mountain. You could stand 25 yards behind the shooter and feel the shockwave of the muzzle blast!

I remembered another evil corporation: Zorg (The Fifth Element). Probably the evilest of them all. Zorg wanted to destroy the universe with the ultimate evil. Smile

Wow. You'll have to refresh my memory on that one. I have the boxed set and the movie and I don't remember Blue Sun as anything more than a background all-pervasive entity.

"Two by two/hands of blue.."  Jayne's t-shirt when River slashes him.  The logo on the neuro-scan that Simon runs on River.  Numerous commercials throughout the series.  Unfortunately, the show got canceled before much more could be revealed about Blue Sun.  It was Pan-Gal, Weylund-Weitani, Massive Dynamic and just about every other invasive mega-corp you could imagine all rolled into one.
Long live the Frontier!
