jedion357 April 29, 2010 - 8:12pm | Concerning the map, 2 things: 1. do a "clean" ie players Map without the robot counters on it then do a GM map with the counters the GM map can be black and white and or smaller. 2. there are some square structures along the bottom and right side of the map that are not clear what they are. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
w00t (not verified) April 29, 2010 - 8:43pm | I will work up a Ref map and a Player map. I'll explain the South Plaza area in the "Map Locations" section. Oh ya, I love it when A plan comes together. |
jedion357 April 29, 2010 - 8:55pm | Ok this may be a bit nit picky but the encounter is pretty good as is: reading through the adventure: 1. in the Adventure Overview it says the PCs travel to a town called Outskirts and in section 1.o it says Tripola surprise? -confusing. Elsewhere it talks about Outskirts the says the city- is that Tripola? 2. It occurs to me that if I need a one off that it might be easier to have the job be on the planet the PCs are already on or in the system they are in so that it doesn't involve a large block of time. and lets the job get done and the group can get back to the main campaign at the next meeting. though that is not absolutely required for a one off encounter its just a preference on my part. 3. Alpha 2.0 first shaded box nice description for the players- it says that the community is based around fishing, forestry and mining. Mining is a SF staple but the fishing, forestry and mining almost sounds like a village description for D&D. Why not put in something SF sounding, Crystal harvesting, Crystal tuning (For some reason Anne McAffrey's The Crystal Singer is on my mind tonight after having read it 20 years ago) or the SF equiv of ship breakers- ripping apart and reclaiming the material form space junk and old ships etc. 4. Pages 1-3 are the meat of the encounter the rest is ancillary material but good none the less. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
w00t (not verified) May 1, 2010 - 7:58pm | I've updated my copy of the document per your suggestions. I'm running the game right now. I have a sheet of 18x24" plexiglas which I place white poster board under then use my dry erase to craft a map. Since I'm play-testing alone I have the following SW miniatures;
I wanted to run it again on Friday for FNOG! Then submit the final by the 8th. No worries if someone reads ahead of time, there is a few twists that the encounter can take. |
