jedion357 April 14, 2010 - 9:32pm | Because the dral's in the crew like to snack while flying the ship. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

Shadow Shack April 30, 2010 - 3:37pm | For lack of a better place...the actual flying bridge is offset to the deck itself. It was either that or create another deck altogether, which would either get sandwiched between the forward maneuver jet deck and the crew deck which would have interfered with Garlus' secret hatchway fromt he crew deck to the bridge in Dramune Run...that passage would actually cut through the MR system on that deck and remain hidden rather than be exposed. dedicating an actual deck for hydroponics would leave an open area between them. The other option was stuff it between the maintenance deck and the cargo hold, which also seemed unnecessary considering the resulting equal sized "non-deck gaps" as far as keeping things uniform. The trick here was to create something "stock" out of what was presented in Dramune Run, and make it just different enough while retaining many of the same features. Note the little subtleties like the lifeboat being on the passenger deck instead of the crew deck (separated fromthe actual main hatch at that) |
