jedion357 August 11, 2009 - 9:04am | Level 6 robot that has been accompanying/helping the party makes an interesting request. because he's pretty much on the level of an android he has some wants and desires: Robot 6 says, "Becuase the use of an organic brain in a cybot adds a level of creative and intuitive thinking I would like for all of you to sign organ donor cards, donating your brain to me should anything unfortunate happen to you. After all you wont need it any more and by incorporating it into my processors you will gain an measure of immortality, after a fassion." problem is..... I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
pineappleleader August 11, 2009 - 2:16pm | Oh sure. No problem. WRONG. I am NOT donating my brain to any tin can. Besides, the robot might arrange for something to happen to you, so it can "collect" your brain. NO WAY. I say the robot is unstable and we should "deactivate" it now, before it does something to harm the party. |
Ascent August 11, 2009 - 5:32pm | "Hey 6! How 'bout I donate my size 13 foot up yo' tin ass."—Roadie "Here, I'll donate a gyrojet rocket. I'll put your name on it and leave it in your brain case, marked 'special delivery'."—Zaram "The only organ I'm donatin' when I die is going to science for the betterment of women everywhere."—Doc "Heck, if you can find my brain, you can have my toenail collection as well. I'll be the first Dralasite in history with a brain. Though I'm not sure if that's an evolutionary leap or a step backward for Dralasite kind."—Gloop "That depends. Do you plan on taking a smokin' hot female form when you do? ... What are you all staring at?? Who wouldn't want a set of bazonkas to fondle at will?"—Berry "Sigh. I may just donate my brain. The last thing this universe needs is a robot with Berry's testicles rolling around in its head."—Silia "The last thing this universe needs is a robot with a feminist grudge and steel kneecaps."—Berry View my profile for a list of articles I have written, am writing, will write. umungus August 13, 2009 - 8:13am | No way Robot 6! Your my shield I guarantee your gonna "die" first... At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy...... |
Georgie August 13, 2009 - 7:04pm | "Sure robot 6. Just do me a favor first, hold on to this kilo of D-19 for exactly 31 seconds..." The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of

pineappleleader August 14, 2009 - 4:37pm | It is nice that everyone who replied to this thread did so in an adult, rational, non-violent manner, devoid of malice. It seems that not very many biologicals trust robots. |
w00t (not verified) August 14, 2009 - 7:35pm | RBSIX... I hear ya. These humans use about 13.56% of their capacity... more for us. Roadie is funny. He'd have to take his size 13 out of his mouth before it ever touched you. -- Your buddy robow00t, giving humans a What For! every where I's goes. |

Ascent August 15, 2009 - 9:59am | From Frontier News Network - Triad Government Seizes Streel Yards! (Will): "with former Streel chairman and CEO, Hilo Headow(mY), currently missing and feared dead, along with the other passengers and crew of the ill-fated PGC mega-liner Pan-Galactic." From History of the Palalyn Cluster: "155 - Streel's Chief Executive Hilo Headow (Yazirian) is found dead under mysterious circumstances." Well, 6, unless you're the one responsible for the mysterious circumstances, I think you're crap out of luck on that last one. Mallak October 21, 2010 - 3:13am | I always thought of SF medical science as including fast grown Cloning to replace damaged organs and limbs. For me this would mean a cybots organic parts are vat grown not harvested. |
jedion357 March 18, 2016 - 12:01am | The Cyber Witness: RB 6 goes door to door asking people to sign organ donor cards and preaching the gospel of Cyber Immortality. He also took an "on line" class and is now an ordained minister as well as possessing medic skills that allow him to baptize you into cyber immorality by cutting your head open and removing your brain. What to call this new religion? Church of the Cyber Mind? Only question left is will an Osakar adopting this religion opt for elective surgery? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
rattraveller March 19, 2016 - 10:44pm | While the brain is important would any part of the spine be needed since it is the communications hub of the brain? Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
jedion357 March 20, 2016 - 7:23pm | Great question, I think the brain stem, maybe but who knows. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack March 21, 2016 - 4:27am | At the minimum, a brain would require a heart and lungs for support, and arguably a digestive system of sorts as well. Whether those are biological or artificial units is always an option. |
jedion357 March 22, 2016 - 6:00am | At the minimum, a brain would require a heart and lungs for support, and arguably a digestive system of sorts as well. Whether those are biological or artificial units is always an option. in RoboCop some of that was biological but in the case of a dis-embodied brian, like the tubed sathar brains we can assume that in non-biological. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Sargonarhes March 22, 2016 - 10:12pm | Being my character's brain, wouldn't the cybot's body become mine? Looks like I'm getting a body like General Grievous. Some other biological parts may need to be retained, unless there is tech to replace them. So the response is does robot 6 have it's component parts card signed? He'd make a great addition to me should something happen to him. In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |
rattraveller March 24, 2016 - 12:47am | Recently read an article about toys with horrifying background stories. One of them was the Gobots. A 1980s toy line that was a mild ripoff of the transformers. The TV series gave the back story of a mad engineer who took the brains of members of both sides in a war on an alien planet and put them in robot bodies. Episodes of the TV series available online. Sounds like a great job but where did you say we had to go? |
Shadow Shack March 24, 2016 - 6:36am | One of them was the Gobots. A 1980s toy line that was a mild ripoff of the transformers.
Calling it a "mild rip off" is putting it mildly. Fun Fact: the Gobots were a product of Tonka, which was bought by Hasbro in the early 1990s...at which point their signature toy trucks line was switched from die cast metal to plastic. Yep, TSR wasn't the only company that Hasbro ruined. |
