jedion357 January 11, 2009 - 12:33am | I uploaded a translated copy of Clan Lord Tennishron's poem, "The Charge of Clan Renegade" it was a post fodder that I worked up for a pbp game where my character was forced to borrow a rifled musket from a yazerian clan war reinactor for a fire fight. Doog recited lines from the poem as he performed the steps to reload the rifle while standing in the sun roof of a speeding hover car. the driver ordered everyone out before he rammed the car and Doog recited the last lines as he cocked the hammer and took aim. It was one of my favorite actions in that game; I kept going back and rereading the post for a week. enjoy, Jedion I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
TerlObar January 12, 2009 - 9:01am | That was a great post. I follow along with the BHG game to see what you guys are up to on a regular basis. I have to admit, I loved Doog's actions in that fight. I was laughing like crazy. Especially when he gave the other Dral's name (Brovinski) out at the end. Ad Astra Per Ardua! jedion357 January 12, 2009 - 6:33pm | Thanks Terl I was in a quandry when Capt H sprung that little scenario on us and since I knew the module said the PCs had to see if they could borrow a weapon from someone, I figured he had to be the arbiter of what was obtain in an attempt to do so. So I wrote 3 post and emailed them to him with a message about which was my favorite after that it was the sniper in Saving private Ryan that sent me looking for a poem on the internet which was a lousy way to search for poems on war and in the end I fell back on the old beloved poem half remembered for Advance placement English. Thank God captain is a fan of ACW too as that encounter would have been boring if he had chosen the post with a auto pistol or it would have sucked if he had chosen the post with the knife! Saddly doing what I did with the poem maybe hard to repeat as that one came off as a home run and just sitting with a poetry book and converting everything to the setting would come off as someone swinging to hard to get a homerun and missing.Which is why I'm hoping that anyone else who has had inspiration in like that will share their work in the library.
