Gergmaster November 2, 2008 - 1:03pm | I just recently got the new game Fallout 3. Installed it and well it crashed. Worked on it for ten hours last night trying to solve the problem. But from what I hear if you can get it going it's a pretty intense game. Confucious Says: Man with one chopstick go hungry. Man who eat many prunes get good run for money. Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement. |
Rum Rogue November 2, 2008 - 7:44pm | ouch. It has been very enjoyable. The critical hits in the V.A.T.S. mode during combat are awsome. I have jumped a few times when someone/thing has come around the corner and surpised me. Now, it has crashed on me a couple of times during play; but I have been abel to start it back up. the Bethesda forums has a few topics about game crashing you should check out. Time flies when your having rum. Im a government employee, I dont goof-off. I constructively abuse my time. |
Gergmaster November 3, 2008 - 6:12pm | I did. I also talked to Bethesda and they said it was my PC. However though windows says its a database error (006d8cdb). w00t (not verified) November 3, 2008 - 6:21pm | Did they tell you to give it the Three finger salute as well? Hey, neat avatar. |
Rum Rogue November 3, 2008 - 10:10pm | I did. I also talked to Bethesda and they said it was my PC. However though windows says its a database error (006d8cdb). I think there was a cthread about that on the forum. I will look tomorrow durring break. But basically it had something to do with software burning programs and antivirus. it was strange. Bethesda blames everyone else, and they blame Bethesda. I use to hate running people in that circle when I worked for Compaq... but then almost every piece of software had issues on Compaq systems.. Imperial Lord November 5, 2008 - 1:58pm | Please tell me the combat is turn-based as opposed to real time... Please... |
Rum Rogue November 5, 2008 - 9:27pm | the combat is real time, but can activate the V.A.T.S. (Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System) which freezes the action, zooms into your target, and shows percentages to target limbs, head, weapons. That is where action points are burned. Exit from V.A.T.S., combat ensues in slow motion action scene of your shooting, bullet tracking, and nifty hit scenes. i.e. blood bursting forth, grenades exploding, limbs getting severed, and heads flying off. After that, combat returns to real-time, your Action Points regenerate, repeat as needed. Your chance and ability to hit in combat is affected by your skill level and the condition on the weapon. You can have your sights "dead-on" and literally shoot all around your target at range. the forums have all sorts of fps players whining about that. Time flies when your having rum. Rum Rogue November 5, 2008 - 9:24pm | By the way, i have been unable to locate useful help info for you. Sorry mate. the stuff they post is way over my head, so i have no clue if it will work; or even if it closely resembles your problem. Time flies when your having rum. umungus November 11, 2008 - 5:12pm | My son has been playing this game on the xbox360. Very cool look and feel. Strangely eyrie as '50's style music drones away as your exploring the wasteland; and of course kind of strange that Lando calrizian is the DJ. hehehe At least I got to scare an alien rabbit thingy...... |
