AZ_GAMER June 25, 2008 - 6:29pm | That would kind of depend on how the plasma would be delivered but in general I don't think a plasma gun and a electro stunner would be the same thing. If the plasma gun delivered a plasma charge in a containment field most likely the damage would be extremely severe burning and possibly some kinetic force as well. Might want to check with our resident scientist Terlobar on the details of this. An electro stunner could utilize plasma reaction in generating the electro effect and the air around the "lightning" may be transformed into a plasma state but I do not believe it fits the concept of a plasma weapon. In the Babylon 5 series the standard anti-personel weapons were plasma guns because the charge would not risk a hull breach but could easily burn a hole through flesh. My guess is that they were going for a nuetron bomb type weapon that would kill organic tissue but leave structures in-tact. However, it seems unlikely that a plasma weapon would be anyless risk for a hull breach then anyother kind of energy weapon unless the hull metal was designed to resist plasma burns anyway. |
