TerlObar May 8, 2008 - 11:30am | Part of the goal of this project is to provide a variety of chits that others can use in generating their own deck plans. The question is what formats should we support? At a minimum I intend to provide PNG versions of all the images that can be used in almost any paint program. I use XaraLX (when in Linux, my primary OS) for vector graphics and I suspect that it's native data format is not portable. What vector graphics format do people use? Ad Astra Per Ardua! Rum Rogue May 8, 2008 - 12:32pm | I have never tried vector graphics. I use a simple program called Dungeon Crafter 1. Its freeware. But it is currently unsupported as they are building version 3. It uses 20x20 pixel tiles that you can rotate and place. One problem is that the tiles are square, and only rotate 90 degrees at a time. you cant anlge a piece unless you make it yourself. Positive side, you can make and modify new tiles in MSPaint. I am not much of an artitst, so I tend to modify existing tiles if there is something different that I would like. I would gladly share any and all of the tilesets that I have. You can still find some tilesets on the web. Time flies when your having rum. Im a government employee, I dont goof-off. I constructively abuse my time. |
AZ_GAMER May 10, 2008 - 3:43pm | Hey, I really like the new jump tug downloads, they look good and have the general feel of what I was getting at with the ship concept. Great work. I hope to have something to contribute to this soon, as I have wrapped up most of the FTLT project. |

w00t (not verified) May 12, 2008 - 10:38pm | I use pixels in my graphic formats! TerlObar, can you provide the chits you used for the deck plans on the jump tug? A repository of re-usable chits for deck plans would be a boon. I'd like to create a Flash application that you could use with your browser to make a deck plan and submit it/export to a graphic or PDF. :-) Kinda like the Hero-machine but not with heroes and not a machine. |
