TerlObar April 4, 2008 - 9:51am | I think he's referring to the fact that there are now 8 projects that you own that have no titles that used to correspond to Corjay's rule books he was working on. CleanCutRogue April 4, 2008 - 10:31am | I had to catch up on PMs and posts to realize what was going on. It seems Corjay is leaving the site and taking his stuff with him... I'll clean up things when it settles down. Tomorrow I start flying home from Malaysia so I won't be on the site for two or more days. When I get back I'll clean up properly. Deleting a project is quite difficult - I never made an automated way to do it. I have a lot of database cleaning to do manually. 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Not because the sun affects our

Full Bleed April 5, 2008 - 4:15am | Well, I'll say this... Corjay was somewhat caustic and often too casual with his opinions as statement of fact. But that is a relatively typical mistake made by people who are enthusiastic about what they are saying. Yet, I think he was fairly visciously attacked in that poll and I believe I would have responded *at least* as agressively as he did. Corvus' response was arrogant, unsupported by any other member of the community, and largely fueled by an obvious personal hatred of Corjay regarding things not relevant to the actual subject being discussed. He was, without a doubt, picking a fight. I don't know enough of Corjay to defend him, nor do I know if some of the things he's done in the past are defensible. And I rarely believe that "taking your ball and going home" when the game isn't going your way is the right course of action. But in a hobby like this, there is really no reason why someone shouldn't actively pursue happiness. It was really way too much drama for such a simple question of opinion. |
CleanCutRogue April 5, 2008 - 6:01pm | I won't deny that it was too much drama! That's a fact. I regret the entire exchange. I feel badly that I took the opportunity to reprimand Corjay without reprimanding the tone of Corvus' post as well... but I talked to Corvus privately afterwards. He offered to apologize publicly for how harsh he was, but it was too late by then, Corjay was gone. I will be more pro-active in the future with regards to moderation. For now, don't hate Corjay or Corvus or anyone... it's just a hobby and things just got out of control. There was no way to make them both play well in the same sandbox anymore after that exchange, so something had to happen. Corjay took the option of walking away - and there was no convincing him otherwise. I have no animosity towards either of them, and hope that this small community doesn't suffer too badly from Corjay's loss. No hard feelings... let's move on. 3. We wear sungoggles during the day. Will April 7, 2008 - 8:22am | Agreed. Suggest we reconstruct the AER project using Bill's proposed skill system as a basis. "You're everything that's base in humanity," Cochrane continued. Imperial Lord April 8, 2008 - 12:58pm | The key event for me was when he went bananas on Larry on the shuttle thing. (About 3 months ago?) That was the big signal to me that Corjay was going off the deep end. I mean, who can actually get MAD at Larry? How is that possible? Hence, Corvus was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or right place/right time, depending how you want to look at it. In any case, this explosion of psychosis was inevitable. I hope Corjay gets the help he really needs - he is a very intelligent, creative person. But he has some sort of "Beautiful Mind" syndrome going on here. |
