Chronocoms

Some comments for the Chronocom article in Issue #8.

With the set costs of items in the Frontier, I was hoping for some set costs for usage of locating criminals for Star Law, though the set cost for Bounty Hunters is fine. Breezing over this part in the early part of the article was kind of anti-climactic, and not having the Star Law officer's cost in the "They're Watching You" section compounded it.

The example of the local time adjustment on Minotaur was not very detailed and pretty much repeated what was said in the previous paragraph. I got the idea myself, but it would have been best to state what the glactic time would be and then, mentioning how many hours are in a Minotaur day, state the time it would be on the sunny side of Minotaur.

As for the limit of reaching someone from a distance, it would be nice to have the option to pay for the service of sending a message through all networks in the case of not knowing the planet on which the person is on.

I never knew how secure channels worked on radio. I had always heard it mentioned on TV programs. Your example made it very clear. Thank you for that.

I like the nod to Star Trek with the pendants used as chronocoms.

I love the Advanced Chronocom. I had an idea that was a mix between the Advanced Chronocom and the Biocom. It would provide a holoprojection of a keyboard on the surface of the skin and allow programming and memory storage with a wrist bracer using magnetic signals relayed through the skin.

The adventure at the end is stellar.

In all, this was really good stuff. Smile

By the way, an explanation of the chronocom digits would have been cool and bring the circle around on the Classifieds. Smile

haha - yeah but those ar ejust random numbers!!

hehe...

Thanks for the critique.  I appreciate it, the good and the bad.

Your idea sounds cool for the combo bio/advanced comm unit.

I didn't consider it while writing the article, but perhaps a summary table of costs and stuff would have been a nice addition to the article.  I didn't expand on the costs associated with services... hrm :-/
