Hey Corjay, you might have already covered this.
Will the Origins Tables (OT) cover modifiers to abilities?

Example:
The OT says my PC grew up in a high-class/rich area of the Frontier. Doing so I was sent to the best schools. Perhaps my PC should get a +5 to one stat, either LOG or INT.

Thoughts?

Opps, I just noted the "SKILL BONUS" in the OT.
Refer to:

This could cover;
  • +/- to Ability(s)
  • +/- to Skill(s)
  • a Special Attribute
  • Under certain circumstances this bonus comes into play

Special abilities I consider to be the realm of race alone.

While a random bonus is possible, I wanted to keep it simple and keep it focused and focused on the original goal: skill bonuses. The bonus was to represent how the person LEARNED to deal with their environment or learned from others in their environment. These are skills they are accustomed to, but not specifically trained in, and not likely born with.

Like Boomtown has Survival +5. That's a bonus to Survival skill checks. That's because in a Boomtown people have to scrounge for food and learn to fend for themselves. The others were just notes to myself, single words to represent what I was looking to give bonuses for. They are not actually the bonuses, but are meant to be replaced with the proper bonuses.

That is a great idea.
