Grendel_T_Troll December 7, 2007 - 10:41pm | That would be a great idea. There is another benefit to consider with this kind of approach: I find myself repeatedly proofreading and re-proofreading my documents - fixing typos and generally trying to clean up the syntax. It gets irritating to constantly have every little tweak sending signals to the "What's New" section. If there were a way to prepare it here before acually displaying it, that would be a great help. Grendel_T_Troll December 11, 2007 - 11:09pm | Well, the preview featuer is used BEFORE you post the work. What about AFTER the work is posted and you need to tweak it a little? I am sure that some people are a little irritated at me because, after I have posted a document, I have found various errors: typo's, incorrect wording, or just that a sentence or two should be written a little better. Sometimes my changes are subtle enough that most readers (whoever they are) wouldn't care to know. It is still important enough to correct the document, but not to holler at every member in the project that said document should be re-read again because a word has been changed...... Maybe there could be a routine that would allow the poster to MANUALLY submit something to the "What's New" section - once the author is convinced that an announcement is warranted. Just a thought... P.S. Even this post has ben re-edited 4 times already. Oh, well... :) Grendel T. Troll Registered Linux User #299419 "Nobody remembers what you say. Corjay (not verified) December 12, 2007 - 9:54pm | The point Bill, is that some may not want to multiply projects for themselves. It's like this. I have the Adventures for the Imagination project that many want to see some of what I'm working on, so I want to work on some stuff in the open, but keep the other stuff hidden. In other words I want to be able to show some stuff without showing all of it, and without starting a new project(s) for those things. For some stuff, I want to continue working on it later before revealing it, because I can't exactly work on it in Preview indefinitely (Yes, I know, I can post it in Word first before I post it here, but I would prefer to be able to store it here and reveal it later. I don't exactly have a catalog of my documents affecting the projects on my computer, and I'm not a very good record keeper. If I have them in place here, I don't have to worry about them). |
