Most Civilized planets and systems still have not been completely explored and settled. Many new planets, moons and star systems have been discovered and await further development. In addition, because of a devastating plague in years past, there are some forbidden planets that have not been contacted in the last few centruries.

The Blue Plague was only decades ago.

What we've known as plague planets/systems are refered to as forbidden. Why forbidden and not communicated with for multiple centuries when the plague was just decades ago?

and they have not been communicated with for centuries plural which means at least 2 centuries but could be 3 or even 4 depending on your definition of "few"

Note this contradicts FY 20 in the timeline about them becoming permanently quarrentined because of the Blue Plague, also the time line says 4 systems but the map says 5.

Also 2 or more centuries would put the last contact with these star systems back in the PF part of the timeline during or prior to the Age of Adventure PF 125 to PF 10 but apparently every one lost their sense of adventure and never visited these worlds

I would go with the page 50 comment and make one or two of these lost colonies. that suffered catastrophies of infectious disease, ecological things and lost of tech such that the community that survies now 150-200 years into the future has devolved to a state of barbarism. they dont speak PanGal and know nothing of established Frontier culture.

I agree there has to be good reasons for off limits, especially after treatment and cure was found.

It makes sense at least one planet might have become crazy hostile cannibal psycho world or something like that, because of a complete collapse of society... maybe open warfare between races even. Planet Hell in Space.

Maybe there is something on the planets far worse... what if the military had been ordered to destroy the colonies when the plague got out of control... and no one in authority wants anyone finding out.

What if the first cure attempt mutated the population?

Just some thoughts...

I like the military angle.
