 September 14, 2021 - 8:11am | It's kinda dead in here so this is an exercise of reviving the board. As the title says, "What's New?" In your gaming world, Star Frontiers or otherwise. In real life. Let's just get some discussion going. Me, I've been rendering some more MS Paint deck plans for SF (some of which are slated for the Frontier Explorer) and it feels good. I've also been fooling around with maps and dungeons for my B/X D&D game. My new toy (Traveller) has taken a back seat lately. Sadly I started taking a sabbatical from all of that a couple weeks ago after my cat I had for 16 years passed, so I haven't been feeling overly creative since then. I'm also three months into a medical leave and getting stir crazy as a result. It's still too damned hot outside to bend any wrenches around my motorcycle collection as Vegas passes into its fifth solid month of triple digit temps, which should slip down into the upper 90's by October...at which point I should be recovered and ready to return to work. One could say that a lot of "should" is going on here. So what's new in your corner of the Frontier? |
 September 15, 2021 - 6:18pm | 2nd wedding anniversary today. Spoke at ConnetiCon on StarFrontiers. Dealing with an idiot in the family that hired a lawyer to contest stuff when the will very plainly says anyone who contests gets nothing. And now they are deamading a silly list of stuff that i supposedly have in the house- antique bassenette my mother gave to my brother when he was having his 2nd and a bunch of other things I haven't got a clue about where they are. Except she wants Dad's computer chair- her claim is this list is her property and that she left it behind but just specitying that she wants Dad's computer chair is an admission that it wasn't her's and that she didn't leave it behind. My latest gripe. Gaming in Star Frontiers. Players are headed to a ag ship turned pleasure boat called Xanadu- "....did Kublai Kahn a stately pleasure dome decree..." The Xanadu stoodges around the oort cloud outside legal limits of system authority and the captain styles himself as a purveyor of all pleasures to the core four. Not much happening for me other than the source of irritation I mentioned. We had to put the big dog on a metabolic dog food which leave him hungry and now he's taken to eating trash. We also send him to doggy day care so he can run with all the other dogs- he comes home worn out- worth the $20/day if he loses weight. Bought a drafting table for $15 at a yard sale and its almost big enough to do a wargame on it- planning to do Wings of War/ Wings of Glory and some KHs at some point here as well as some sketching. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |

 September 18, 2021 - 5:45pm | I don't think I've touched anything Frontiers for a long time, or played any sci-fi RPGs. I've gotten my fix of Star Fleet Battles via online gaming, and I'm still jonesing to (re)start a Star Trek RPG sometime. I picked up some intriguing books, and have been inspired by a podcast "RPG Pop Club" which is trying to play and review each and every Star Trek RPG adventure. |
 September 19, 2021 - 10:47pm | I've been very busy with my day job, but am gradually creating an article on the Explorer for an issue of Frontier Explorer. I'm going to include a few other vehicles that fall within the remit of the Explorer, but they're just larger or smaller versions. Also including a cutaway and various equipment that can be added to the basic model. I'm also still trying to find all my notes for a homebrew adventure I ran back in 2014/15 so that I can hopefully in the future turn it into something as a free download. There's a lot within it and my notes from each session we played have to be collated so I can make sure the whole thing plays without any problems. |

They previously announce the adventure continues Mar 22. Which happens to be 2 days before the start of TSR con. So one would presume it's going on sale them however just recently during a LaNasa diatribe he belittled me claiming I was ignorant and that the book would publish two days after TSR con. So I don't know when the release date is . I do know the cover you saw is a mock up and not real. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
