 February 8, 2021 - 10:35am | Hi everyone, my name is Joel. This is my first post & I hope I've picked the right forum for this. If not, feel free to move it. Anyway it dawned on me that the laser weapons should look more like those from Buck Rogers in the 25th century if you take the standard SEU clip in to account. The illustration given in the alpha dawn basic game book is elegant but doesn't fit in with the concept of an SEU clip being the size of a cigarette pack. You would only have one of three places to put the clip, on the bottom in front of the trigger guard or to either side roughly in the same general area. It would be more expedient to place it on the bottom though as it could be sold to a person of either handedness with one basic design. Otherwise a right handed person would have to buy one with the clip well on the bottom or the right side. Same for a left. handed person only it would have to be bottom or on the left. This is so because it wouldn't fit into a holster with the clip side facing toward the body. I suppose the holster could be made to stand out away from the body several inches but this would seem to be both uncomfortable & impractical. All of this would equally apply to all energy weapons that took a standard SEU power clip. |
 February 9, 2021 - 7:20am | May dralasite doesn't care what side the clip is on..... I can't really argue with on points you've made BUT... I like the iconic style of Star Frontiers lasers.  I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
 February 15, 2021 - 7:55pm | I don't go with an SEU clip looking that big, because you're not going have a box on the side of a sonic sword. I view the SEU clips to be about the size of a AA battery, maybe a little bigger in diameter. This allows the SEU clips to power both laser pistols and rifles as well as powered hand weapons. And to me the original laser pistol reminds me of the pistols from Star Blazers>  In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |

And to me the original laser pistol reminds me of the pistols from Star Blazers> I look at this gun and I want to pull on the piece sticking out the back to "chamber" an SEU I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
