jedion357 February 7, 2021 - 7:37am | Using Reapers Brain in a Jar as inspiration for this My Idea was a sci fi/ Star Frontiers adaption of the D&D beholder Creepy creature monster paired with lots of different capabilities- most of which are from technology but also rolling on a table for a mentalism ability. High STA to soak up damage (more than a standard robot- up to a heavy duty robot potentially). Rotating Star Trek borg like screens: current screen setting is inertia but PCs fire a laser that connects for high damage so on next turn the screen is albedo Like the Beholder eye stalks a panoply of weapon systems. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 February 7, 2021 - 8:02am | Standard robot body is 100 STA and Heavy duty is 500 STA I'm thinking (1d3 x 100 STA) +100 for 200 to 400 STA allowing a referee to scale the difficulty up or down Power: Type 2 parabattery or larger for minimum of 1,000 SEUs (or at leasts this creatures version of the parabattery) Protection Screens: rotatitng inertia, albedo and sonic and just maybe the holo screen for invisibility. The active screen changes in response to threat faced. Potential Optics: Standard, IR, Electromagnetic (according to zebs detects force fields), motion, parabolic mic, ultraviolet at least three of these- I like Std., IR, and electromagnetic Weapons: laser, Sonic disruptor, rafflur?, grenade rifle with magazine of grenades: 10? auto rifle but with the capacity equal to multiple clips ie it will be belt fed Every 100 points of damage takes out one random capability either weapon, defense or optic I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 February 7, 2021 - 8:10am | telepathy is automatic and how it communicates Beam- attack a beings mind Confusion Cryokinesis Fear Illusion Paralyze Pyrokinesis Telekinesis I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 February 7, 2021 - 8:34am | Attacks 4 weapons on rotating disk- one weapon each positioned in 4 directions around the disk. This disk rotates to switch a new weapon to its forward direction. If the creature is surrounded it cand shoot all four weapons if it has to. and it can make a mentalism attack as well. two manipulator arms for melee or tool use- 1d10 damage I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 February 7, 2021 - 8:46am | Looking at the 1st AD&D monster manual the beholder moves slowmeaning a good tactic is to run away. this will be slow ish and the same tactic might be also viable of running away when the SEU on its power supply gets down to a certain level this will likewise run away: 250? 300? 500? I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
