jedion357 March 8, 2020 - 12:28pm | Spit balling here without access to a rule book while at the dog park with the fat dog. Had a thought for a alpha numeric robotic classification like that of Star Wars. Letter code to identify type S for Service, C for combat, H for hunter killer, etc. Number for the robot level 1-6 Letter code for body type: A for anthropomorphic, S for standard, H Or D for Heavy duty, C for tin can half sized robot body introduced in The FE #?. Code (letter or number) for mode of locomotion That's 4 alpha numeric codes. Enough or more? Robotics expert will automatically know what the codes mean as part of his training. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack March 9, 2020 - 1:54pm | I did that long ago, here's a graphic of my maintenance robots series designated M/R-1 to M/R-4 (with the R designating "repair"). |
jedion357 March 9, 2020 - 5:00pm | Codes by Type: Maintenance= M Heavy Duty (large bodies construction and harvester robots)= H Combat= C Security= P ? (using P instead of S borrowing P from Police or Patrol) Service= S Cybot= CY Warbot= W Robot Brain= B Levels denoted by numbers 1 thru 6 are self explanetory Body Type Heavy Duty= L Standard= M Tin can bot= S Anthropomorphic= A Parabattery type is optional but will be 1 for most and 2 for the heavys Locomotion Legs= L Wheels= W Hover= H Tracked= T Rotor= C Rocket= R I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
jedion357 March 9, 2020 - 5:01pm | Why add an R? I assume the maintenance bots can repair. I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack March 9, 2020 - 5:39pm | No reason other than because the MR-2 was one of my favorite cars before I discovered motorcycles. Seriously though, there's maintenance, and then there's repair. One prevents the other but I felt both need representation. |
