Anyone else watch the Picard Series and think why the hell didn't they get the writers for this series to work on the STD series?????

I'm rather blown away by the Picard series and have quite gotten over my wife purchasing CBS all access.

Some very good laughs and some nice moments like 7 of 9 showing up in the last episode I just watched. Some predictable stuff but not that big a deal, at least to me. Loving the writing of this and jsut noitices that Jonathan Frakes directed the episode with 7 of 9- nice touch.

I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers!

Very good. Best Star trek series to date. Written like a long feature film... and no stupid time travel / alternate reality plot.

Tried watching it this week. Got through about 6 episodes and then just gave up. I just don't like anything after the TOS. It's just too clunky whilst trying not to be.

Wondering if I should point out that the Romulan home world being destroyed by a super nova is the JJ Abrams reboot story line with time travel at its core?

However I get what you mean they are not using time travel in this directly.

Sometimes I feel like, "Enought with the mother-f---ing time travel already"

EDIT: I have some issues with the blonde robotics expert's story line as its moving forward and not happy with the former borg Hue's story line as of the last episode (I'll say it that way rather than spoil anything) but by and large I've enjoyed this series.

I know. But at least they didn't do it in Picard.
