TerlObar February 21, 2020 - 12:30pm | Just giving everyone a heads up that in the very near future (by Monday, Feb 24, 2020 at the latest), I'll be moving this site over to the new server. I might get to it today but probably not. This is the last of my websites to migrate. I've already moved starfrontiers.info and almost everything went fine. The only thing that broke there were the blogs funcationality that no one has used in ages. Hopefully no one will notice the transition but you should notice that the site will switch from http to https once the move has been made. I'll post a follow up comment once the move is complete. Once this move is done, I can start working on a new version of the site that uses more modern versions of the technology instead of running this site from 2007. Ad Astra Per Ardua! Shadow Shack February 21, 2020 - 2:38pm | Once this move is done, I can start working on a new version of the site that uses more modern versions of the technology instead of running this site from 2007. Boy howdy am I looking forward to some of those updates. |
TerlObar February 24, 2020 - 1:29pm | The site is migrated and you should see the https in the URL now. Let me know if you run into any issues. Ad Astra Per Ardua! Shadow Shack February 27, 2020 - 2:19pm | You'll have to type the URL in and re-bookmark the site, otherwise you still log into the old http version via the original bookmarks. |
jedion357 February 27, 2020 - 7:24pm | I see https I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
TerlObar February 27, 2020 - 7:54pm | It should redirect you to https. But it's the same site regardless as all my traffic goes to this one now. Ad Astra Per Ardua! KRingway February 28, 2020 - 12:23am | All seems to be working from here :) |
Tollon February 28, 2020 - 2:59am | would you post the new web address so we can be certain we are on the right page, thanks. |
TerlObar February 28, 2020 - 11:22am | You posted so you're on the right page. There isn't a different address. It's still www.starfrontiers.us. If you explicitly put the http:// in front it will redirect to https:// but otherwise it is the same. There still a minor issue of it trying to pull the little smiley faces from the http site which is why you don't get the green lock (at least I don't) but everything else seems to be working. Tollon March 2, 2020 - 4:23pm | First problem I have encountered. All my Personal Files are gone. Nor can I upload new ones. No dialgue box appears. |

First problem I have encountered. All my Personal Files are gone. Nor can I upload new ones. No dialgue box appears. I just checked, same thing here. |
jedion357 March 5, 2020 - 3:53pm | Dont know if I had personal files my my personal files tab shows this: Directory error! - files/u4436 I might not be a dralasite, vrusk or yazirian but I do play one in Star Frontiers! |
Shadow Shack March 12, 2020 - 1:07pm | <sigh> I seem to have graduated from logging in every two or three times to logging in EVERY TIME. Seriously, how does a post-tree format board NOT have a 'remember me' feature? Is this running on 1970's software? |
TerlObar March 12, 2020 - 7:41pm | It's 2007 software. The problem is that I can't reproduce your issue. The website does remember me almost every time no matter where my internet connection is coming from - home, airports, hotels, etc - or how many times I reboot my computer. I don't know what is causing it to forget you regularly. The only time it forgets me and requires me to log in is when I clear browsing history/cache or sometimes when I've had to reboot the server (which hasn't happened recently at all). Shadow Shack March 13, 2020 - 3:04am | I'm beginning to speculate the software hunts down the member with the longest history and excludes that member from everything...seriously, I seem to get all the glitches that can't be reproduced. Which probably explains why Bill and Larry left respectively. |
