    Reposition Quick Edit

    Issue Number:
    86
    Severity:
    Major
    Description:
This may be related to the Delete issue, but I'm not sure.

The Quick Edit Reposition dropdown won't flow down to the highlighted position, but it registers in the primary Reposition field box.

This was intetional.... not an issue.  I wanted the "quick edit" reposition to be safe to use, so I prevent anyone from setting a page to be its own parent or from being in an orphaned mode by being a child of one of its children.  There are some cases where you might want to do this during a larger-scope reorganization process, which is limited to the more advanced outlining utility.  I honestly considered excluding it from the advanced outliner utility's reposition field too.

Please let me know if this issue has been sufficiently answered and I'll close it up.

I'm afraid you totally missed what I was talking about. I don't think I explained it very well either.

I don't have a mouse. I have to use my laptop's finger pad to move the cursor, so I can't scroll down lists the same as with a mouse sometimes, so I use the arrow keys. This was working just fine for me before a few days ago, and then suddenly it won't scroll the list. It only changes in the field box. The list just blinks.

I'm still not sure what ya mean, man.

My assumption is that you are hitting "TAB" a gazillion times to get to the Quick Edit section's reparenting combobox, and you aren't able to scroll it as needed.  I just tried that and it worked fine - in both Firefox and IE.  Can you give me a very specific instance where it's not working?  I haven't changed anything in that regard in the past few days that I'm aware of...

finger pad -> click -> menu -> down arrow -> blinking menu that won't scroll.

It only blinks when the highlight tries to move down the list to selections not in view. I don't use tabs to get to it.

I'm really really sorry - but I can't reproduce this problem or I'd try to fix it... Every project's documents I go to (even the really long one at 25th anniv ed.) I click on the reposition combobox with my touchpad, then use the up/down arrow keys - and I can navigate all the way up and down from top to bottom... I tried it in both IE and FF... can you please give me a specific link to the page it's happening on?  Help me find it?...

Any page, every page. You know what I'm talking about, so since you're not experiencing it, I guess I'll need to write it off as one of those things that just can't be fixed and may be something on my computer and not the site. If I come across another site with a dropdown box and it happens there, I'll let you know.

Alright... but also - have you tried it in IE?
